“Sailing is my passion”

“Every time I am out on the water I feel as if I am one with nature. I started sailing 5 years ago at age 9 when I moved to Mossel Bay. My love for this sport really grew when my parents bought me my own sailing dingy and I started competing in regattas. The more I competed in racing, the better I became and my results improved. In 2017 I was fortunate enough to sail in the RS Tera world championships in Carnak, France where I was placed 43rd out of 63 boats. In 2018 I was placed second in the South African RS Tera and was selected to represent the South African RS Tera class in Weymouth, UK where I was placed 10th in the silver fleet and was the 3rd girl out of 40 competitors. In 2019 I moved up to the larger Pro sail and was placed 2nd and will again be representing the RS Tera Class at this year’s world championships which are to be held at Ljungskile, Sweden from the 4th to the 9th of August 2019.”
