Point High Girls’ u18A Hockey Team

Point High Girls’ u18A Hockey Team

This is a very special group of girls – displaying skill, talent and amazing fighting spirit on the field!
The four matric players in the team started out with their coach, Mrs Nezar, in an unbeatable u14A side, continuing their winning streak in the u16A side, to end off their hockey career together again in the u18A side. All four of them represented Eden multiple times in provincial sides. The goalie, Lehandri Marais, was chosen for the Eden A-side from u14 to u18.
The players who moved up from the u16A side of last year, also with Mrs Nezar, did not lose a match the entire 2017 season.
This combination of players made up the u18A side of 2018 – a group of players.

They started off this very successful season as winners of the Arthur Johnson Sport School, continuing to the final high point of winning the inter-schools, by beating Langenhoven Gimnasium in a closely contested match, 1-0.

Mrs Nezar said: “It has been a privilege to coach such an amazing group of young ladies.”
