“Cabinet has approved the appointment of Daniel du Toit as the new group chief executive officer for group chief executive officer Denel, the department of public enterprises and Denel said in a joint statement on Thursday.

Du Toit, an external candidate, has a Masters in Commerce and has completed the Executive Development Programme at The University of Pretoria’s GIBS Business School.

He recently vacated a position as managing director at SAAB Medav Technologies in Germany. According to his executive profile on Bloomberg, he joined Medav from Altech Multimedia, where he was group managing director.

Before that, he was chief operating officer of SAAB Grintech Defence in South Africa, where he served in several senior management positions. He began his career in the South African National Defence Force. ”
