Geagte Ouers en Leerders
Die keuse van ʼn hoërskool vorm ʼn noodsaaklike deel van die toekomsplanne van ʼn voornemende leerder.
Jou hoërskooljare is besondere vormingsjare. Jy gaan nuwe, lewenslange vriendskapsbande sluit. Jou vaardighede gaan geslyp word, talente verder ontwikkel word, jou horisonne gaan verbreed en noodsaaklike kennis versamel word. By Hoërskool Punt word jy gelei en ondersteun tot verantwoordelike toekomsbeplanning en word jy gevorm tot ʼn selfstandige jong mens wat sy/haar plek in die volwasse samelewing kan inneem.
By Hoërskool Punt verbind ons onsself tot die volgende:
- Tot die bevordering van goeie verhoudinge tussen leerlinge en personeel, tussen leerders onderling en tussen die verskillende taal- en kultuurgroepe in ons pragtige skool.
- Tot liefde vir wat ons eie is en respek vir andere om ons.
- Tot aanvaarding van gesag en om self positiewe leiding te gee.
- Om aan elke leerder die geleentheid te gee om tot sy/haar volle potensiaal te ontwikkel.
- ʼn Akademiese program wat ons trots en hoogste prioriteit is.
- ʼn Hoë profiel sportprogram wat kompeterende geleenthede bied en wat jaarliks sportsterre van formaat lewer.
- Tot ʼn lewensverrykende en genotvolle kultuurervaring.
- Om ʼn gesonde balans tussen deelname en prestasies in ons skoolwerk, sport en kultuuraktiwiteite te handhaaf.
- Tot sosiale interaksie wat ʼn klinkklare aanduiding is dat ons hard werk, maar ook lekker kan speel.
ʼn Vennootskap en noue skakeling met ons ouers is vir ons baie belangrik. Elke ouer het die geleentheid om ten nouste deur ouerkomitees en bepaalde aktiwiteite by hul kinders se aktiwiteite betrokke te raak.
Hoërskool Punt volg ook ʼn waardegedrewe benadering. Hier by Punt streef ons daarna om nie reëls af te dwing nie, maar dat gedrag “uit die hart” uit moet kom. ʼn Waardegedrewe lewe. Daarom is ons in vennootskap met ons ouers om die volgende vyf kenwaardes by ons leerders te vestig:
- Respek – ʼn Diepgewortelde agting vir ons medemens en ander se eiendom en waardes.
- Verantwoordelikheid – Om elke taak aan ons opgedra na die beste van ons vermoë uit te voer en te verseker dat dit betyds uitgevoer word.
- Eerlikheid - Om waarheidliewend en vry van bedrog te wees.
- Omgee – Om ander se nood en behoefte raak te sien, te verstaan en iets daaraan te doen.
- Innovasie – Om voordurend aan te pas om die uitdagings van die samelewing die hoof te bied.
Indien hierdie waardes vir u as ouer belangrik is en u wil deel word van ʼn skool van uitnemendheid, is Hoërskool Punt die skool vir u kind. Ons sien voorwaar na ʼn lang verbintenis met u en u kind uit.

Dear Parents and Learners
The choice of a high school is an essential factor when it comes to the future plans of a prospective
learner.
Your years in high school are particularly important regarding character development and moulding. Your skills are honed, your talents are developed, your horizons are broadened and you gather indispensable knowledge. At Point High School you are guided and supported on your path to becoming an independent person who is capable of making responsible choices regarding your future; one who is able to enter the adult world confidently.

- To maintain a healthy balance between participation and achievement in our school work, sport and cultural activities.
- Social interaction that resoundingly reflects that even though we work hard, we also have fun.
It is very important to us to have a good relationship with our parents and clear communication between us is also a priority. Every parent has the opportunity to become involved with his or her child’s activities by way of parent committees and assistance in certain events.
Point High School follows a values-driven approach. Our aim is not to enforce rules, but rather that behaviour comes “from the heart” – a values-driven life. We are thus in partnership with our parents to ensure that the following five key values are adopted as a way of life by our learners:
- Respect – a deeply-rooted respect for our fellow humans as well as their property and values.
- Responsibility – to ensure that every task we are handed is done to the best of our ability and timeously.
- Honesty – to be truth-loving and free from deceit in any form.
- Caring – to see the needs and distress of others, to understand and to do something about it.
