NUUS PER E-POS / NEWS VIA E-MAIL

Ouers, oudskoliere en ondersteuners van die skool wat weekliks 'n e-pos wil ontvang met nuus en gebeure van die skool kan hulle naam, van en e-pos adres stuur na puntbemarking@gmail.com om te registreer vir hierdie diens.

Parents, ex-pupils and supporters of the school that want to receive a weekly e-mail with news and events from the school can send an e-mail with their name, surname and e-mail adress to puntbemarking@gmail.com to register for this service.

GYM

We would like to remind you that we have a fully equipped gymnasium at the back of the school hostel. Our aim with the gymnasium is to fully equip our athletes in all sporting codes to perform to the best of their ability. Through thorough testing and specific programmes for athletes we want to ensure top fitness levels.

 Learners are tested regularly and they start on an introductory fitness programme before progressing to a sport specific programme. We strongly recommend that all learners make use of the facilities at the gym.

 The gymnasium is open to all Point High learners. The school managing board decided to offer all learners the following gym special for the remainder of the year. The special offers membership from 15 April 2013 – 15 December 2013 at a total cost of R600.00, a total saving of R200.00.

Gholfspan na KeNako Gholffees

'n Viermanspan speel vanaf 2 tot 4 Mei in die KeNako skole gholffees te George wat op die bane van Oubaai, George gholfklub en Kingswood beslis word. Ons wens hulle sterkte toe.

Greenergy plant Spekbome

Die Greenergy klub van Hoërskool Punt het Spekbome op die skoolterein geplant. Spekbome is een van die plantsoorte wat die meeste CO2 uit die atmosfeer absorbeer en is dus 'n baie effektiew teenwerker van besoedeling.

Renowned clothing designers in the making

The third annaul Wear Art fashion show was held on 25 April 2013. The grade 10 - 12 Visual Art learners of Point High School had the opportunity to flaunt their intriguing fashion designs.

Bianca van Rensburg's dancers opened the event with a hip-hop dance routine. The grade 10a modeled their artwork first, beaming with pride at their first Wear Art creation. "At first it was nerve-wrecking. Afterwards I wanted to go back on the ramp an do it again," commented a grade 10 learner on modelling her own design.

The audience was over-awed by the designs and amazed by the fact that the articles of clothing were made from waste materials. Chocolate wrappers, duct tape, cool drink labels, bubble wrap and feathers were all manipulated to complement the clothing designs. The audience members were alive with chatter, discussing which items they loved and whether they would wear it or not.

A matric learner, Nadine Schumyn put her love for making clothing out of waste materials to good use and made several Wear Art items. Models wearing her designs sashayed down the catwalk sporting gorgeous wings.

"I feel as if I'm at a real fashion show," commented a learner in the audience. There is no doubt that these talented young artists have a bright future ahead of them.

Die Suid-Kaap junior houespel kampioen van 2013‏

Baie geluk aan Mentz Germishuis van Hoërskool Punt wat gekroon is as die Suid-Kaap junior houespel kampioen vir 2013.  Punt kan met trots sê dat hulle golfers vanjaar puik presteer met Cyril Botha (ook 'n Punt leerder) wat in die tweede plek geeinding het
